What makes sehsüchte so special is the intercultural exchange between creative people from all over the world in the congenial atmosphere of a student-run festival. For that reason, the Festival is keen on finding as many filmmakers as possible a place to stay in Potsdam. With the support of the Federal Foreign Ministry and the Potsdam Student Union, we could invite filmmakers from 30 countries in 2008.
The Festival thrives off its enthusiastic audience, which can, at sehsüchte, not only garner exciting cineast discoveries, but can also make personal contact to filmmakers, talent scouts, media professionals, specialist journalists and film enthusiasts.
The sheer enthusiasm for film continues unabated. And indeed, where else, if not at the biggest international student film festival in Europe, with its throng of national and international guests - from Potsdam, Berlin, Brandenburg and all over the world - could you savour more intensively the passion for cinema?
