Manicam Narayanan - Indian Filmmaker
Biography
- Manicam Narayanan studies economics at Loyola College in Chennai. In 1985 he founded Seventh Channel Communications, a production firm for television programmes. Manicam was the first producer in series format in Chennai. So far the firm has produced over 1200 hours of programming for the international television audience and received many prizes. Seventh Channel organizes in addition the International Tamil Film Awards in Malaysia In 2003, Manicam received the Golden Jubilee Award der Mylapore Academy in the category “Overall contribution to the field of Art & Culture”.
Manzar Sehbai - Pakistani actor and theatre scholar
Biography
- Manzar Sehbai is a Pakistani actor, theatre scholar and acting chairperson of the Asian Pacific Filmfestival. He was born in 1950 and lives currently in Berlin. Until 1973, he directed the experimental theatre, Pakistan, and moved across to the department of theatre studies at the Humboldt University Berlin in 1976. As an actor, his last appearance was in 2005 in “Toba Tek Singh”, a film about the conflict caused by the division of India.
Dr. Gloriana Selvanathan - Writer and filmmaker from Sri Lanka
Biography
- Dr. Gloriana Selvanathan was born in Sri Lanka in 1947 and studied media at Cambridge University. Since 2004 she has been a permanent member of the jury of the International Film Festival Tamil Nadu in India. Since 2008, she has been the programme director for the Asian Pacific Film Festival Berlin. In addition, Gloriana has worked as a journalist for various newspapers.
