Mexican Feature "La canción de los niños muertos" wins the sehsüchte Prize for Best Feature Film
The 38th International Student Film Festival, sehsüchte, in Potsdam-Babelsberg has awarded a total of 49,300 Euros to 15 prize winners. Director Matthias Glasner, a member of the jury on features, handed the prize for the Best Feature Film to the Mexican entry, "La canción de los niños muertos". Representing the director, David Pablos, the camera operator, Hatuey Viveros, accepted the main prize. "The Film is poetic, archaic, almost mystical. With great creative force […]. A courageous film, that doesn't try to ingratiate itself and leaves its viewers deeply moved", that's what the jury said in saluting it. As Best Feature Film under 25 Minutes, the Hungarian entry, "Kócos", by Marcell Gerö, took the prize.

The documentary jury led by the camera operator, Lutz Reitemeier, awarded the main prize to the Bulgarian film "Goleshovo" by Ilian Metev. Best documentary film under 25 minutes was "Kuppikunta" by Reetta Huhtanen from Finland.
The prize for the best animation film was awarded to the Dutch director, Evelien Lohbeck, for her entry "Noteboek".
Camera operator, Armin Dierolf, received the prize for Best Camera for "Schwester Ines", and the Polish feature "Luksus" by Jarek Sztandera took the prize for Best Editing. The Focus Dialogue Prize went to the Indian feature "Erased" by Neha Raheja Thakker.
The most valuable prize at the Student Film Festival, the Prize for Best Producer, was awarded to the feature, "Sores & Sîrîn" by Srephanie Blum. The Anti- Discrimination Prize went to the documentary "Unter Nachbarn" by Stefen Duvel. The Best Children's film was "Bienenstich ist aus" by Sarah Winkenstette.
The audience Prize of the 38th International Student Film Festival went to "Schlaraffenland" by Sarah Judith Mettke
