Dear Sehsüchtophiles,
This year’s official programme and all members of the juries are already clear. sehsüchte will present a total of 157 films from 30 countries. The best films in the categories “Feature Film”, “Documentary Film”, “Music Video” and “Animated Film” will be selected out of the huge number of entries by some notable film experts like the director Matthias Glasner and the cinematographer Lutz Reitemeier.
sehsüchte is also proud of its brand new trailer! We succeeded to win two of Germany’s most popular young actors – Nora Tschirner and Florian Lukas.

157 films from 30 countries in the sehsüchte festival programme
157 movies from 30 countries were selected out of 1.200 entries. In total 59 films from 19 countries made it into the international competition. They will compete for fifteen sought-after prizes worth a total of 49,300 euros at the biggest International Student Film Festival in Europe.

The Director Matthias Glasner in the Feature Film Jury
The director Matthias Glasner is one member of the sehsüchte feature film jury this year. With his mainline film, “Der freie Wille” (Free Will), he made it into competition at the Berlinale, and his lead actor, Jürgen Vogel, won the Silver Bear for his artistic achievement. And in addition, Matthias Glasner was nominated for the German Film Prize in the category of best director.

Film stars for sehsüchte - Nora Tschirner and Florian Lukas in the Festival Trailer
Crowds of people, a red carpet and the blizzard of camera flashes from the hoard of photographers – it’s all pointing to a glamorous evening for the première. But unfortunately the tow actors have lost their way. They wanted to go to the student film festival sehsüchte in Potsdam and wound up at the “other” festival on the Potsdamer Platz… In Nora Tschirner and Florian Lukas, sehsüchte has managed to secure two of the best-known of the younger generation of German actors for this year’s festival trailer.
