Dear fans of sehsüchte,
this year´s student film festival sehsüchte is closed. 8.000 guests, 15 lucky winners and notable visitors took part in the festival and were dancing on the numerous parties.

And the winner is...
sehsüchte has awarded a total of 49,300 Euros to 15 prize winners. Director Matthias Glasner, a member of the jury on features, handed the prize for the Best Feature Film to the Mexican entry, “La canción de los niños muertos”. As Best Feature Film under 25 Minutes, the Hungarian entry, “Kócos”, by Marcell Gerö, took the prize. The documentary jury led by the camera operator, Lutz Reitemeier, awarded the main prize to the Bulgarian film "Goleshovo” by Ilian Metev. Best documentary film under 25 minutes was “Kuppikunta” by Reetta Huhtanen from Finland.

Looking back on sehsüchte – 8.000 Festival Visitors at the biggest Student Film Festival in Europe
On 26 April, the 38th International Student Film Festival came to a fitting close with the audience day. 8.00 visitors and over 80 invited filmmakers from 13 countries experienced six festival days, saw 157 films form 30 countries, celebrated three raging parties, acclaimed 15 prizewinners and enjoyed having so many celebrities around.

In its 38th year, the International Student Film Festival, sehsüchte, was serving up a varied supporting programme. In the Cineastes´Quintet, film experts did discuss “proximity and distance in documentary films”, in the screenplay lounge there were initially readings with elements from radio plays and in the workshop conversation film music and montage did collide.

Potsdam was burning!
As always - an opening and closing party was celebrated at sehsüchte, but this year we also celebrated with film makers and guests at the Music Video Party, after the Music Video Award ceremony which took place at Lindenpark in Potsdam.
