We did start the fire!

The excitement is building, and with its first hand of filmic treasures, the 38th sehsüchte Film Festival will get the starter’s gun in the Thalia Arthouse Cinemas. Following on from that, the gates of the HFF “Konrad Wolf” will open up for a glamorous gala. Our guests can not only look forward to any amount of amusement, fun and excitement, but also to the much-favoured Red Bull-Lounge, a show programme in a class of its own and a really festive night!

As far as the music goes, the evening will be opened by the legendary Tom Blacksmith and the Soulminers. They will be showing that real glamour, in the glitter of the disco mirrorball, is a question of style and stance. Going on from there, we are welcoming Supershirt, who will be setting the party afire – officially – with their mix of Drum’n’Bass, Electro and Rap. The highlight of the evening arrives on stage now long after that: She’s All That. All this electronic provocation will be rounded off by the DJ team, Juicemarket, who will be rocking the dance floor with their Funk, Soul, HipHop and Electro style into the small hours.

Focus Lounge

A little bit later, it all goes on with the Focus Lounge and suitable sounds from all over the world, sidling smoothly into the evening. This is where it’s not just the filmmakers who get to know each other, to have a good time together and talk shop. All the cineastes, fans of the Indian Subcontinent and everybody who feels like a little multicultural flair, are very warmly invited. DJ for this event is Delantero del Sol this year, who’ll entice everybody onto the dance floor with his oriental and Carribean sounds.

It’s not just the pictures that dance here: you can move your body to the beat at the music video award – to “New Clips On The Block”! As video and music inevitably get people in the mood for dancing, we’re really cranking up the volume with the Heart Sharks as leading. The Fucking Pop DJ-Team will take over to get the dance floor seething. Feeling the Burn? Then it’s off the Lindenpark in Potsdam on 24 April!

sehsüchte - Final Party

The best always comes last – and with sehsüchte too. After the winners have been declared at the glittering prizegiving in the Thalia Arthouse Cinemas and the sought-after trophies have been handed over, everybody only wants to do one thing: CELEBRATE! The shuttle will take you directly after the prizegiving to the great final party at the HFF “Konrad Wolf”. This is where a great festival bows out in proper style. The atmosphere is all superlatives, so the University’s atrium is going to see the longest night in its history.

Of course, all that can only happen if the music’s right. The totally cool Hip-Hop Duo Smith&Smart from Berlin will warm things up for our guest with their unique show. And in the slipstream: DJ Stinoe, keeping the scene seething with his mixture of Hip-Hop, Funk and Electronica. But there’s still one more tasty touch to come: The Honeybeatz. Off their heads and gaudy as they come, they interpret well-known tunes in a totally new way through their dazzling liveperformance. If you’re not partying here, then you’ve only yourself to blame!
