Association
The Association of Friends of the International Student Film Festival sehsüchte was founded in 1998 and is made up of people who have grown to love sehsüchte, primarily former festival management teams and individuals affiliated with the academy as well as sehsüchte sponsors and partners and supporters from the media industry.
The association supports the festival by soliciting and providing funding. The association was chiefly established in 1998 to ensure the festival’s continued existence.
Given the festival’s special organizational structure – individually responsible teams of students rotate every year – transferring know-how and preserving the “festival’s memory” is a more difficult undertaking than it is for festivals with permanent teams. Involving former organizers in the association creates a pool of experience and knowledge in which earlier teams’ insights and know-how are collected.
The close contact between association members and the current team fosters the festival tradition’s continued existence and thus helps subsequent sehsüchte International Student Film Festivals become reality. Supporters and sponsors also benefit from this communication platform consiting of past actors because it provides a stable and reliable basis for future negotiations and contacts.
